Since I will be away for the next two weeks and as much as I love to share art awesomeness, I will be "post" free until my return from my sunny adventures, and so I am doing two art show guides of my "must-see" exhibits that are coming up. This weekend if you are in the vicinities, you should check out the following:
- "Stop Haunting Me" with all new work by Greg "Craola" Simkins at Merry Karnowsky Gallery out in Los Angeles, CA. This show will be particularly memorable as it is the 20 year anniversary of him writing under the name "Craola" and will have tons of new paintings (like above) and special print releases. You should be ashamed of yourself if you live in the area and don't make it out to one of the dopest surreal shows out now.
- Another show to check out on Saturday out in Cali is "Heavenly Creatures" at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, with Meggs showing new works in the main gallery section. Come by and visit the temporary "house of Meggs" where you will find yourself surrounded by mythological heroes in modern abstract contexts.
- Finally, out in Switzerland you'll also find the opening of SatOne's "Sweet, Little India" solo show at La Grille Urban & Graffiti Gallery, with some incredible graphic and abstract paintings based off his recent trip to India... it's always a treat to see how adventures inspire the direction of an artist.
